This index of actionable quotes is different than any other. Consider: How many times have you come across a quote you love. Do you make it part of your life? Or do you just admire it? All quotes are advice on how to live your life. The problem for most people is they do not know how to make them reality for them. There is a way. That's what makes this list different. When you click on an item in the list, you go to the page where you can follow the instructions and make the quote part of your philosophy of life.
I suggest you only do one quote at a time. And, use it more than once. Make it part of your personality. It's possible. Repetition is the mother of skill. Hey, that's a quote. Think how many ways you could use what it suggests. But will you. As you'll learn in The Slight Edge Philosophy, "What's easy to do is also easy not to do." So the question, again, is will you. Will do the work? the mundane work over and over and over again. The great ones do. How many shots in practice did Michael Jordan shoot? How many putts and drives has Tiger Woods done? Over and over and over again. I'm telling you, it works. As Danzel Washington says, "Hard Work...works!"
Do you have a self-development program? Actually, the way it should be asked today is, "Do you have a growth mindset?" This question has become dominate in the schools because of the work of Carol Dweck. She studied student's attitude toward failure (a topic we talk a lot about on this website). She studied literally thousands of students. One of her observations was, "When students believe they can get smarter, they understand that effort
makes them stronger. Therefore they put in extra time and effort, and
that leads to higher achievement." That makes sense. But not all students (or adults) think that way. They have what's known as a fixed mindset.
In essence, it has been shown that intelligence is malleable. A person's intelligence can change over time. It has also been found that the physical brain, itself, can change. It's called brain plasticity. That will be covered in another part of this site.
For now, just learn from the wise saying of others. Take their quotes and make them work for you.
